Claude Irumva is the Communications Lead at Refugee Youth Changemakers (RYCM), where he oversees storytelling and organizational visibility, ensuring that refugee narratives are presented with dignity, depth, and authenticity. His leadership is rooted in both lived experience and academic excellence, making him a vital voice in refugee advocacy and education.

Claude is a final-year MBA student specializing in Project Management and an experienced educator in humanitarian and refugee settings where he serves as Quantitative Course Facilitator at Kepler College, Kiziba Campus. He has dedicated his work to ensuring that vulnerable communities—especially displaced youth—can access quality education and opportunities to thrive.

Claude’s passion lies at the intersection of education, communication, and impact-driven programming. Currently, he serves as the Communications Lead at Refugee Youth Changemakers (RYCM), where he supports the organization’s visibility and storytelling, ensuring refugee voices are amplified in meaningful and respectful ways.

Originally from Masisi, in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, and having grown up in Rwanda as a refugee, Claude carries a lived experience that shapes everything he does. He has seen firsthand how education can restore hope, dignity, and a sense of direction for those forced to start over, and this drives his commitment to refugee-centered programming.

Over the years, Claude worked closely with refugee learners through education roles in higher education, program coordination, and youth mentorship—supporting their academic journeys, advocating for inclusive systems, refugee students, and graduate employability—helping them build the skills needed to succeed in a changing world.
