"We don’t just need a seat at the table. We need to shape the table—and make space for every refugee youth to lead."

Solange Ingabire is a courageous refugee advocate, visionary leader, and passionate changemaker committed to transforming the lives of displaced youth across East Africa and beyond. As the co-founder of Refugee Youth Changemakers (RYCM), Solange envisions a world where refugee youth are not only included in the conversation but are leading the charge for lasting social change.

Raised in Rwanda’s refugee settlement system, Solange brings deep personal insight into the challenges faced by displaced youth—and the boundless potential they hold. Over the past three years, she has worked across non-profit sectors, refugee-led organizations, and the private sector, spearheading programs that have empowered thousands of refugee youth through education access, digital skills training, and youth leadership development.

Her advocacy is rooted in removing systemic barriers that limit refugee participation in decision-making spaces. Whether she’s facilitating workshops for girls in secondary schools, advising policy dialogues, or presenting on international platforms, Solange ensures that the voices of refugee youth are heard, respected, and centered.

Fluent in English, Spanish, and Kinyarwanda, she is a natural bridge-builder between cultures and sectors, forming strong partnerships with global institutions, grassroots movements, and youth networks. Her ability to navigate both grassroots realities and global advocacy spaces makes her a trusted voice in the refugee movement.

At RYCM, Solange leads external relations and partnership development, building strategic alliances to expand the organization’s impact. Her leadership is key to RYCM’s mission of equipping displaced young people with the tools, opportunities, and platforms they need to thrive and lead in their communities.
